Bhí lá gnóthach agam inniú óir bhí orm dul suas go Tiobraid Árainn. Mar sin féin rinne mé an dá seisiúin a bhí beartaithe agam. Thosaigh mé ar 9.30rn the roinnt pocáil. Rinne mé 30 nóimead sa halla in éadan an balla ag obair ar an chéad teagmháil, agus an sliotar ard. Bhí mé ag bogadh agus ag bualadh go maith tar éis an téadh suas. Bhí pian i gcaol mo láimhe ach imíonn sé nuair atá na sciatháin téite suas de réir cosúlsachta.
Bhog mé amach ar an pháirc tar éis leath uair sa halla agus rinne mé tuairim is 3/4 uaire de scaoileamh ar chúilíní, agus ar chúl. Bhí mé ag obair ar scaoileamh agus mé ag gluaiseacht, agus tar éis 'dummy' a chaitheamh. Bhí gaoth tréan amuigh ach tá sé tábhachtach cleachtadh sna coinníolacha seo chomh maith óir ní féidir a bheith ag brath ar na Déithe gatha na gréine a chur ar fáil i rith gach cluiche. Bhí mé ag léamh an ghaoth go measartha, agus is cinnte go bhfuil feabhas tagtha ar an bualadh as an camán agus mé ag gluaiseacht. Ghearr mé thart fá 20 poc sleasa ag an deireadh. Ní raibh siad go hiontach cé gur scóráil mé ceann nó dhó. Is cinnte go bhfuil tábhacht le rúitín a bheith agat roimh pocanna sleasa agus pocanna saora. Tá tábhacht an rúitín léirtithe ag muintir rugbaí le blianta beaga anuas. Mar sin féin is Christy Ring é féin a dúirt go gaithfear gach snath imní agus eagla go ndéanfaidh tú prachas den phoc a sceitheamh uait roimh an iarract a dhéanamh nó ní fiú é a thrial!
Ag a 1 a chlog chaith mé leathair ag obair ar na meacháin uaschop. Seisiúin beag gearr ach éifeachtach.
Tá deireadh tagtha leis an seal gan feol! Beidh mé ag cuartach roinnt bí nua cibé ar bith, ach ní shílim go dtig liom an feol a ghearradh amach go hiomlán!
Amarach, seisiúin maith meacháin oilimpeach, níos mó céad teagmháil, agus bfhéidir roinnt scaoileamh nó tacláil ma ta comrádaí treanála agam.

I had a busy day today as I had to travel to Tipp. Despite this I got the 2 sessions I had planned done. I started at 9.30 with some pucks. I did 30 minutes in the hall against the wall working on the first touch, and the high ball. I was moving well and hitting the ball well after the warm up. I had pain in my right wrist but it goes away after my arms warm up properly.
I moved out onto the field after half an hour in the hall and i did about 3/4 of an hour of shooting for points and goals. I was working on shooting on the run and after giving a 'dummy'. The wind was fierce but its important to practice in these conditions as well as you cannot be dependant on the Gods to supply the sunshine for every game. I was reading the wind quite well, and i have definitely improved at hitting the ball on the move and off the stick. I cut about 20 sidelines at the end. They were not great but I scored one or two. A routine is very important before sidelines and frees, as has been highlighted in the media by various big rugby players in recent years. However, it was Christy Ring himself who said that all fear of messing up should be abandoned before the attempt is made!
At 1 o clock i did 30 minutes of upper body in the gym. A sort wee session but effective.
The no meat phase has completely gone out the window. I will keep on the lookout for good new foods to try out but I cant cut the meat out completely!
Tomorrow, an olympic weightlifting session, more first touch work, and maybe some tackling if i have a training comrade!
